19th Avenue Packing Facility -
UofMN Minneapolis, MN
This 540 car contemporary ramp is post-tensioned, cast-in place structure and epoxy coated reinforcing steel. These features, along with an emergency power generator, a carbon monoxide monitor system that controls the exhaust fans on the lower level, and Thorocoat cementitious paint on the interior, provide optimal durability and minimize long-term maintenance requirements.
1015 South 6th Street -
Incorporated into the design, function, and structure of this two bay, double thread helix is a truck dock that services the Metro Dome Square Building. The slab was designed to support the weight of heavy trucks. This post-tensioned, with a precast Façade, parking facility is designed to accommodate vertical expansion.
Grand Central -
St. Cloud, MN
This single-level, two-bay, vertical expansion was constructed while facility below remained in operation. Other features include: new vehicle entry; revised existing stair tower and new elevator shaft to accommodate new 330 foot skyway which connects the parking facility, hotel, and Civic Center; a four-story stair/elevator tower at the Civic Center to connect the skyway to the convention halls and previously public inaccessible parking below the Civic Center.
3rd Street Parking Facility -
In response to an ever-increasing parking need, especially within the historical district of Dubuque this parking facility was designed to relate to the existing buildings as well as respond to the neighboring bridge and the alley-way that will be integrated into the parking facility’s functional system.
Columbia Heights Parking Facility -
Columbia Heights, MN
This three-tier parking facility was designed in a warm colored red-brown aggregate, with a glass-sided hydraulic elevator for visibility. The massive scale of the parking facility was visually reduced by variations in façade depth, materials, fenestration and the blending of colors to become a unified part of the adjacent medical building.
North Memorial Medical Center -
This parking facility expansion accommodates 250 cars. The design also incorporated a heliport on top of the parking facility. The heliport includes a hangar, crew quarters, and a medical transportation facility below. The medical transportation facility includes ambulance parking, maintenance area, offices and fuel storage for the heliport. Additional services also included restructuring, restriping, and coordination of all 1887 parking spaces on the hospital campus.
Sioux Valley Parking Facility #2-
Sioux Valley, SD
This precast and post-tensioned 1010 car parking facility is 357,500 sq. ft. in size. It is multi-tiered, four bay facility with a sloping helix is connected to the hospital campus by an underground tunnel. All parking stalls accommodate full sized cars and came in under budget.
Hopkins Parking Facility -
This 426-car “L” shaped parking facility is designed for future vertical expansion of three additional levels and a total parking capacity of 884 parking stalls. As a security issue, this “open-air” facility, with a glass-back elevator, reinforces the user’s sense of security due to increased visibility.
Radisson Suites Hotel -
St. Cloud, MN
This multi-story, 104 suite structure has a brick facade is accentuated with a bay window profile and architectural elements taken from neighboring buildings, to compliment, rather than disassociate from the architectural style of downtown St. Cloud. The Radisson Suites Hotel is connected to the Grand Central Parking Facility (designed by Vedi Associates) and the St. Cloud Civic Center via a 330-foot long skyway (designed by Vedi Associates). The skyway was designed to provide a link between these 3 structures, but also to relate to the existing surroundings without disturbing the streetscape and urban fabric of the downtown area.
